The Everest region, covering the north of Solu Khumbu, is the third largest tourist destination in Nepal, after the Kathmandu valley and the Annapurna region . This vast region is a magnet for mountaineers and trekkers. Less diverse than the Annapurna region geographically and culturally, this region nevertheless offers trekkers the advantage of infiltrating the very heart of the Khumbu Himal, the most imposing massif of the Himalayas. Inhabited by a few ethnic groups, including the majority Sherpa people, the Everest region allows an incursion into Tibetan Buddhist culture. A particularly attractive trip, allowing a complete discovery of the Khumbu massif and its most prestigious peaks: Everest, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Pumori, Ama Dablam… In a very “high mountain” atmosphere, the trail follows the main valleys where the valiant Sherpas whose reputation is second to none have settled for centuries.
